Inspirational Impact and Message of Hope
The strength, clarity, authenticity, and lasting influence of the book’s central message—including hope, courage, faith, healing, compassion, resilience, and positive change.
Official PIHBA Judging Framework
At the Prestigious International Hope Book Awards, a powerful message is recognized alongside strong writing, thoughtful presentation, and professional literary commitment.
100POINT EVALUATION FRAMEWORKOur commitment
PIHBA honors books that inspire hope, encourage healing, strengthen faith, promote resilience, and positively influence readers around the world. Every submitted book is reviewed with care and respect.
Our evaluators consider how effectively the book has been written, organized, edited, presented, and communicated to its intended audience. The goal is never to criticize an author’s voice or compare one person’s life journey to another—it is to recognize meaningful impact, strong storytelling, professional presentation, and literary commitment.
A book does not need complicated or academic language to earn a strong score. Clear, sincere, accessible writing can be deeply powerful.
What PIHBA evaluates
Each book is evaluated within the expectations of its genre, category, cultural context, and intended audience.
The strength, clarity, authenticity, and lasting influence of the book’s central message—including hope, courage, faith, healing, compassion, resilience, and positive change.
Sentence structure, clarity, word choice, tone, description, dialogue where applicable, readability, and the author’s ability to sustain the reader’s interest.
Technical accuracy, sentence construction, capitalization, tense consistency, paragraph structure, and the overall level of professional editing.
The opening, chapter order, transitions, pacing, development, coherence, focus, and effectiveness of the conclusion.
Emotional authenticity, character development, vivid scenes, meaningful reflection, memorable moments, and the ability to make readers care.
A distinct perspective, genuine and consistent voice, creativity, courage, fresh insight, and an intentional approach to the subject.
Insight, developed themes, practical lessons, spiritual or emotional depth, relevant support, thought-provoking ideas, and a clear sense of purpose.
How successfully the content, writing style, title, description, and category serve the book’s intended readers and literary form.
Interior formatting, headings, layout, spacing, publication information, images, illustrations, and consistency of design.
Relevance, title and author-name readability, visual balance, image quality, genre appropriateness, emotional impact, and professionalism.
Whether the book remains memorable, encourages reflection or action, contributes to its genre, and has the potential to inspire, comfort, educate, or transform.
The 100-point framework
The eleven standards are organized into nine scored categories. Combined criteria prevent overlapping qualities from being counted twice.
Official printed recognition
Authors who earn PIHBA Literary Excellence recognition receive an official, professionally printed Literary Excellence Certificate identifying the author, book, evaluation result, and recognized excellence level.
When an author also wins an entered genre category, the Genre Award Certificate is presented as a separate recognition. This preserves the meaning of both achievements: one honors the book’s literary evaluation, while the other celebrates its category award.
Printed and mailed: Official certificates are carefully prepared and sent to the recipient using the delivery address provided to PIHBA. Authors are responsible for supplying a complete and accurate mailing address.
How award decisions are made
The literary score is an important part of the evaluation process, but final decisions may also consider the entered category, the strength and purpose of the message, relevance to the PIHBA mission, emotional and inspirational impact, competing entries within the judging period, and the book’s contribution to readers and the literary community.
A high score does not automatically guarantee a particular award. A lower score does not mean an author’s story lacks value.
“Every book represents time, sacrifice, courage, and a part of the author’s heart. We do not take that responsibility lightly.”
Respecting every voice
PIHBA welcomes authors from different nations, cultures, faith traditions, educational experiences, languages, and stages of their publishing journey. English may not be every author’s first language, and literary expression differs across cultures.
Books are reviewed according to their content, quality, category, message, and professional presentation. An author’s nationality, popularity, social-media following, financial position, personal connections, or public status should not determine the literary score.

The meaning of a PIHBA award
A PIHBA award represents more than participation. It recognizes meaningful strength in hope, storytelling, resilience, faith, healing, purpose, literary quality, emotional connection, and reader impact.
These established standards protect the value behind every certificate, seal, trophy, finalist recognition, category award, and Author of the Year consideration.
